Most times, all that partners in a venture need from each other, is a positive affirmation when presented with the question: How committed are you to this project?
When it comes to the development of tourism in Sierra Leone, the private sector had put forward this question, and the public sector, spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MTCA), answered in the affirmative, emphatically.
The launching of the National Strategic Tourism Plan in May 2024, in collaboration with the World Bank and Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP) is a gauntlet thrown by MTCA and its partners, that Sierra Leone is ready for the Tourism industry big time.
This should serve as encouragement and a challenge to the private sector to give it its all, as the government has proved it is currently doing.
