Empowering 800 Women Entrepreneurs: A Public-Private Partnership Success in Sierra Leone’s Tourism Industry

800. That’s the number of women entrepreneurs certified by the Ministry of Touism and Cultural Affairs, with support from the World Bank and Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP).
The women underwent months of training at world renowned Sierra Leonean Fashion Design enterprise, Madam Wokie. Through this partnership between public and private sectors, a good number of Sierra Leonean women were able develop craft, artisan, and enrepreneurial skills in the tourism and hospitality industry
