Hon. Nabeela Tunis leads Inspection to Key SLeDEP Projects, Ensuring Progress Toward Sierra Leone’s Tourism Growth

On Friday, January 24, 2025, Hon. Nabeela Farida Tunis, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, conducted her first inspection of the year at several SLeDEP-funded construction sites, including Leicester Peak, Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and Bureh Town Community.

Her regular visits to these sites serve to boost contractor efficiency, motivating them to intensify efforts in line with the projected completion date of September 2025.

During the inspection, significant progress was noted at the respective sites, with some structures already completed – a positive sign for the project’s timeline. The Minister expressed optimism, stating that she’s confident that the work will be completed as at the set time frame.

Above all, the visit underscores Hon. Tunis’ commitment to enhancing Sierra Leone’s tourism sector and ensuring its continued growth.

 

The Minister was accompanied by senior staff of the Ministry including the Director of Tourism Travel and Exchange Programs Mohamed Jalloh, Senior Tourist Officer Mohamed Barrie, Senior Tourist officer Abdul Malik and a few staff members of the Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project including the Project Coordinator Mary Jalloh, Prince Gaima Tourism Specialist and others.
